I'm proud to announce the public
test of the new WebTranslator system!
Why beta?
I've planned to open WebTranslator at a later point, after extensive testing period, and with much more features. Due to technical problems with WebTranslator1, I'm forced to open WebTranslator2 now, so that's why I consider it's
now.
Why the design is so bad?
The design is only tested with Mozilla Firefox 1.5, this will improve somewhat in the future (remember, [beta]), but I'm not going to "port it" to Internet Explorer <6.0, Mozilla Firefox <1.0, Netscape Navigator, Lynx and so on.
For wannabe translators
Q: I asked for an account X days ago, but I didn't receive a single answer. What should I do?
A: Please wait a little more. Currently I don't have so much time to work on WT2...
Q: I'd like to translate OpenTTD to xxxx language (currently not exists in OpenTTD). What should I do?
A: Supply the required data and wait a little more, since creating a new language took some time, since currently I have to do that manually.
Q: I'd like to translate OpenTTD to a language which is a RTL (Right-To-Left) (say, hebrew, arabic, etc). What should I do?
A: Well, currently OpenTTD doesn't support RTL languages. But since I have been contacted by several wannabe translators, we're considering offering support for RTL languages as well. It's not an official promise, but more than nothing :-). So currently I'd say contact me, and I'll notify those who contacted me about RTL support when it is in the corner, so that they can start translating.!
For everyone
For anonymous users: you can reach statistics from the menu or here. Differently from WebTranslator1, statistics are always up-to-date.
I've found a bug, what to do next?
Bugs are expected in this phase, so don't be surprised. Please notify my about the bug (what is the bug, how can you reproduce it, what would be the correct behaviour in your opinion, etc..) at , at Flyspray or at #openttd.wt2.
I have some ideas how to improve WebTranslator2!
Ideas are always welcome, so please let me know about your idea or at #openttd.wt2.
Participation in development
Q: I'd like to participate in the development process of WebTranslator2! What should I do?
A: Drop an email and write down your skills, I'll answer for sure!
